What are the Entry Regulations for Canada?
A valid passport or proof of citizenship is required for entry into Canada. A driver's license is NOT accepted as proof of citizenship.

What taxes apply in British Columbia?
Sales tax is 7.5% in British Columbia. Liquor tax is 10%. If a visitor purchases goods and has them shipped by the vendor directly to their home location outside of British Columbia, no sales tax is charged. Accommodation tax is 10% but is subject to change. The GST is a broad-based consumption tax which applies at a rate of 7% to most goods and services purchased in Canada, regardless of whether the buyer is a resident of, or visitor to, Canada.

Am I eligible for any tax rebate?
Non-residents of Canada may apply for a rebate of the GST. The GST Rebate for Visitors brochure highlights the conditions, which must be met in order to receive a rebate and is available at any Duty Free shop or Travel Info Centre.
